"In a wealthy home some utensils are made of gold and silver, and some are made of wood and clay. The expensive utensils are used for special occasions, and the cheap ones are for everyday use." -2Tim 2:20 NLT
Have you been invited to someone's home for a special occasion for dinner and when you arrive to eat, the host has their best dishes and utensils on the table? Ever wonder why they do that? Because they VALUE WHO YOU ARE so they want you to have the best of what they have to offer...they want this time to be cherished and memorable. After you've eaten the dishes have to be washed.
Other times have you been invited to someone's home for food and fellowship and they have the styrofoam plates and plastic forks and spoons out? It's not that they don't value who you are but, you might be a common guest and they don't have to do as much to impress you. After you've eaten the plates, spoons and forks can be thrown away. I hope you see where I'm going with this...
Same rule applies to dating. Are you a special occasion or are you everyday use? What some women miss is the guy want to know if you're different than the other women. He already slept around and used women for his own selfishness. Now that he's changed and gave his life to Jesus he want to know if you are going to tell him no if he try to touch you. He want to know if you are a "special occasion" or "everyday use" the call is up to you.
If you are the everyday use (you give it up to him regularly, thinking he's going to stay with you) he will "throw you away" like the styrofoam plate...never to be seen again because it went in the wastebasket. Or are you a "special occasion" to be washed again, put in the China cabinet for all to see again and again...(in other words, make him wait till he marry you. You will be his wife so everyone will see you, time and time again) So next time you think freaking him out in the bedroom is going to keep him, ask yourself "by doing this am I going to be a special occasion or everyday use?"
